Yellow Corydalis grows 30cm high. Its flowers are 12-18mm long, bright-yellow, 2-lipped with 2 outer & 2 inner petals, 2 tiny sepals. These unusual flowers are borne - 6-16 flowers at a time - in a long raceme on greyish-green, branched stems. The leaves are pinnately lobed ending in a leaflet. They are a delicate, grey-green. It is a garden escape, now naturalised in a few locations and seems to like growing on old walls and rocky ground. It is a perennial and it belongs to the Poppy or Papaveraceae family.
I first recorded this plant in Dalkey, Co Dublin in 1998 and photographed it in Co Kildare in 2012.
